Superior & Nirvana
Superior & Nirvana
There is no better feeling than being engulfed in a warm, cozy, cashmere wrap. The feel, the smell, the sheer elegance will have anyone feeling confident. Now picture being able to say you made that piece every time its complimented, which trust me, it will be.
New for Fall 2018/19, the Skylar Shawl is the cream of the crop. This tri colored piece is classic, modern, and oh-so beautiful. Knit on the bias with a size 7 needle, this pattern is perfect for knitters of varying skills. If you can rib, slip stitches, and K2tog this pattern is perfect to you!
In my opinion, the best part about this shawl is truly how timeless it is. It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 80 like me, the Skylar Shawl will be the perfect addition to any wardrobe. She can be worn as a wrap, a shawl, a cowl, or a scarf… it’s up to you and how it will best compliment your personal style! When you twist and turn and play around with it, more colors and textures show, and you’ll be sure to fall in love all over again.
What truly takes this seemingly simple shawl to the next level is the use of my favorite yarns in the collection. The dynamic duo of luxury, Filatura di Crosa Superior and Nirvana cannot be matched. Superior is a laceweight yarn comprised of 70% cashmere, 25% silk, and 5% merino wool. The cashmere and silk provide texture and halo soft as the clouds, while the wool adds a bit of extra strength. Nirvana is made up of 100% mercerized merino wool, also in a lace weight. Mercerization means the wool is stripped of the outer layer leaving the surface with a buttery soft and silken texture. When the two are combined, it makes a gorgeous sportweight yarn that can be knit on a range of needle sizes.
When you’re looking for a new project to cast on, I guarantee the Skylar shawl will never disappoint. With the holidays approaching much quicker than it seems, she might just be the perfect gift for your loved one. However, I will warn you if you’re making it for a gift the second she’s in your hands, you won’t want to let her go.
If you love the Skylar Shawl as much as I do and want to learn a little more, the pattern is available here and you can find the rest of our Fall/Winter 2018/19 collection here. All my patterns are available in Italian, English, German, and Chinese.
