Zara Plus & New Soking

Luciana CardiganCiao a tutti,

Hands down, the holidays are always my favorite time of the year. We’re surrounded by family, friends, and endless amounts of cheer. It’s a time to reflect and appreciate the people that surround you and all that you have accomplished. This year I wanted to create a special holiday garment to mark the occasion, so I’ve been working tirelessly to finish my Luciana cardigan in time for the celebrations!

I knit Luciana up in Zara Plus, my favorite Aran-weight superwash merino wool, held together with one strand of New Smoking. Zara Plus is an easy fun yarn to work with and is a quick knit due to its weight. New Smoking is a gorgeous chainnet lamè that blends beautifully with other yarns, it catches the light providing sheen in an elegant yet subtle manner… perfect for standing out at parties!

Luciana is an easy level pattern, great for beginners, using garter stitches for the body and edged with a single reverse crochet stitch. I included a feminine peplum on the cardigan, adding length and drawing attention to the wearer’s natural waistline. The Luciana cardigan has button details, so you have the option to wear it open or closed, changing the whole look of the garment! These details also make it fun to layer! I love creating styles with a bit of versatility because, to me, customizing garments to your personal style is the whole point of fashion!

Zara Plus comes in a multitude of colors and we have 10 vibrant hues in New Smoking. The color combinations here are endless, so whether your celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, a birthday, or life in general, we’re sure to have the right combo for you!

I’m wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season, followed by an even better New Year! 2018 has been a wonderful time for Filatura di Crosa, and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for us next year!
