THE NICOLE SHAWL and NEW COLLECTION

Inca Wool - Inca Print

Ciao a tutti,

NICOLE ShawlWe’re finally back with yet another new collection! This week we’ve launched the brand-new Fall/Winter 2019/20 Ladies Collection! This collection is the result of so much hard work and experimentation. We have tons of interesting pieces that are fun for knitters of all ages and experience levels. Ranging from our Italian classics all the way to convertible and avant-garde pieces, we’re positive you’ll find something that sparks your fancy this season!

As you all know, with a new collection comes a promotional free pattern! For September 2019, our free pattern of the month is the Nicole Shawl. As we’ve gone around showing the new yarns and styles to our shops, this piece has gotten a lot of love. It’s a simple triangle shawl worked from the bottom edge up in garter stitch. As far as the pattern is concerned, this is an easy level knitting project. The Nicole Shawl is perfect for knitters who want to make their very first shawl, or for those who want a mindless project that’ll work up quickly! The beauty in this shawl comes from its clean edging and interesting striping pattern! To create Nicole, we used 2 colors of Filatura di Crosa Inca Wool along with 1 color of Inca Print. These yarns are a baby alpaca blends in a sportweight. Inca Print is a saturated color variegated yarn that naturally stripes itself. Because of this, Inca Print makes for beautiful socks and shawls! Lastly, we paired the print with Inca Wool to tone down the brights and make it more of an everyday shawl.

Some more of our favorites in this collection are the Delia Pullover, a striped ¾ sleeve pullover knit up in Superior and Nirvana held together. The Adrina Hat knit, a cabled knit beanie that uses one ball of Samarcanda (or two if you’re like us and love a huge pompom)! And the Vivianna Vest, a flyaway intarsia cabled vest, knit up in FDC’s newly reintroduced Zara 8!

As always all of our patterns can be viewed in the “patterns” section of our website (link pattern page here) or on Ravelry under the designer “Filatura di Crosa s.r.l.” ( https://www.ravelry.com/designers/filatura-di-crosa-italia-srl ).
