THE ANNABEL TOP

BATIK - Fancy Line 2019

ANNABEL TopCiao a tutti,

Today we’re talking pointelle stitches and the Annabel Top! We at FDC love making tees during the spring and summer months. They’re fun, versatile, and can be layered with a cardigan when the weather starts to turn.

Annabel is an intermediate level top that uses ribbing, stockinette, a pointelle lace pattern, and reverse single crochet. The written pattern also includes both charts and schematics to make knitting as simple as possible. The lace 8-stitch repeat creates a beautiful diamond-like pattern using a specific combination of K2tog’s, SKP’s, YO’s, and SK2P’s. Annabel also uses color blocking to add an extra layer of visual interest!ANNABEL Top

This tee is knit up using Filatura di Crosa’s Kady, a 100% mercerized cotton yarn. Mercerization is a process of adding sulfuric acid or lye to cellulosic fibers. This process causes the fiber to swell in size and strip away the naturally rough exterior of the cotton. Not only does mercerization make the fiber softer and more lustrous, but it also makes the cotton absorb more color. This results in richly pigmented and colorful yarns. Kady comes in two variations, Kady and Kady Print. Kady Print, as you may have guessed is the multicolored version of Kady. Each one combines colors that match back to our Kady line, so there are multiple combinations to be had for Annabel. My personal favorite we’ve done so far is the pink combo using Kady Print #1000 (tan combo), along with Kady #14 (Peachy/pink), and #2 (off-white)!

As usual, all my patterns are available on both my website and Ravelry at Filatura di Crosa Italia s.r.l. If you decide to knit Annabel, please tag us on Ravelry, any social media you have, and #filaturadicrosa. We love to see your versions and post them for the world to see!

A presto,

Ms. F. Crosa
